A native to Southern California, April Kawaoka resides in Southern California where she teaches at California State University Long Beach, designs and fabricates her own jewelry line, and continues her art practice. Specializing in metals and sculptural installations, she earned her BFA from the California State University, Long Beach and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. April’s artwork has been on display at Dunedin Fine Art Center in Florida, Arizona State University, the Huntington Beach Art Center, and the Ontario Airport in California.
